Between Suriname, Venezuela and Brazil, in the north eastern South America, is the country of Guyana. With an Atlantic coastline in the north east, Guyana is now the third-smallest country in South America after Suriname and Uruguay, the name “Guyana” translating as “Land of Many Waters”.

Kaieteur Falls is possibly the most amazing natural attraction in the country, five times the height of Niagara Falls, the Kaieteur Falls are only reachable by small plane from the capital. The Orinduik Falls are also stunning and are a substantially smaller set of falls than Kaieteur, they can be included in the itinerary when visiting the Kaieteur Falls.
North west in the country is Shell Beach, it is a must see while in Guyana for the nesting site of many majestic turtles that call the waters their home, while Iwokarama Nature Reserve offers long peaceful walks in beautiful scenic surroundings.
Shopping malls are a fairly new addition to the nation but you will some well-known brands, while the markets are regular and numerous and you can pick up some locally made and pretty crafts including purses and satchels, tie-dyed fabrics, semi-precious stones and handmade costume jewellery.
